Borovets is the Host of Rally Bulgaria 2010 – Round of the WRC

Borovets is once again the host of Rally Bulgaria, making its debut as a round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) this year.

The competition will last for three days – from the 9th to the 11th of July 2010. The Rally has a total length of 1068.30 km with 14 Special Stages (353.34 km) all in asphalt.

The opening ceremony will take place on the 8th of July at 20:00. Krum Donchev and Yasen Popov are invited to do the honours and cut the ceremonial ribbon. The two pilots finished first and second at the first round of the Bulgarian Rally Championship Trayanovi Vrata 2010.

The Headquarters and Press-centre of the 41st WRC Rally Bulgaria are located in Hotel Rila in Borovets. World famous celebrities, managers of the event and more than 200 international journalists will summon in the hotel during the rally.

Sebastian Loeb, Kimi Raikkonen and Mikko Hirvonen are only some of the star WRC pilots who will compete in the upcoming race.

On the 8th of July (Thursday) the Headquarters in Hotel Rila will be open from 07:00 to 21:00. The shakedown will take place between 08:00 and 14:00. FIA’s preliminary press conference will be conducted at 13:30, and at 15:00 the first conference of the sports commissioners will take place. The official information board which will be located in Hotel Rila will announce the Start List for the Ceremonial Start. Information for each of the racing days will be released daily on the board at 20:00. At 18:00 the cars for the rally will be presented in the indoor park built for the ceremonial start and located on the ski slope in front of Hotel Rila.

On the 9th of July (Friday) the Headquarters in Hotel Rila will be open from 07:00 to 21:00 again. The Press-centre will work from 08:00 to 21:00. The Start of the Rally will be given at 09:00 (SP, Dolna Banya Airport).

On the 10th of July (Saturday) the Headquarters in Hotel Rila will work from 5:00 – 21:00. The Press-centre will open at 06:00 and close at 21:00. Day 2 will start at 07:00 again at SP, Dolna Banya Airport.

On the 11th of July (Sunday) the Headquarters will work from 06:00 to 20:00, and the Press-centre – from 07:00 to 20:00.The start of Day 3 will be at 08:00 (SP, Dolna Banya Airport).

The Rally Finish, Podium Ceremony and Prize-giving will take place in front of Hotel Rila at 14:00. FIA’s Post-event Press-conference will be at 15:00.

The temporary final rank list will be published at 17:30 on the official information board in Hotel Rila.
