information: bnr.bg

A project by the State Forestry Management in Balchik in Northeastern Bulgaria envisages the restoration of some 11.5 ha of oak forests along the Black Sea coast in the valley of the Batova River not far from the famous resort of Albena.

The venture is co-funded by the Life + programme of the European Union.

Tourists will be able to plant 400 000 oak trees in 3 years’ time in an attempt to restore the natural habitat of foes, reindeer, wild boars, mouflons and other game species.
