Sadly the Narcis hotel was a disappointment. On our arrival at the hotel the receptionist was very un helpful and tried to convince us that we did not need the two bedroom apartment that we had already paid for and that a one bedroom apartment was all that she could offer us. I had to phone the holiday agent who spoke to the receptionist. We were then shown to our correct apartment. Even though the hotel is not very old it is in need of a considerable amount of basic maintenance. The waste pipe on one of the toilets was leaking and one of the light switches was hanging off the wall. A number of times we did not have any hot water and the response from reception was unhelpful and certainly no apology. The elevator did not work meaning that after a long day of skiing we had to climb a number of steps to get to the rooms. If you were expecting a two star hotel then the Narcis would be fine however it is very misleading for it to be advertised as a four star hotel. Music was played too loud in the restaurant especially in the morning (upon request was turned down though) Saturday night music from the after ski lounge too loud and went on until 4am. (we lived 2 floors above. Walls are too thin, you hear TV and loud talking from your next door apt. Funny was that even the apartement was equipped with stowe and fridge there was no pots to cook with, nor other utensils! It should be mentioned to bring your own. SPA surprised us positively. It was cozy and never overcrowed, however it should be mentioned that people wash themselves before entering the pools. Long corridors leading to the rooms underneath the hotel premises was a bit odd. Rooms were spacious and sometimes too hot. Since Bansko is fairly new tourist resort we can understand some of the shortcomings. After all the defects, we ended up having a nice holiday skiing and bathing. Silky holidays were very helpful and did a fantastic job of organising our skiing holiday. Sadly the Narcis hotel was a disappointment. Hotel is a disgrace. The lifts to the 5th floor were not working for 2 days. The room was cold as no central heating working. They gave us electric heaters but this blew up our electricity supply. Spa Turkish bath not working for 3 days, water of spa cold. Food cold or finished by the time we went down for dinner. No access with ski boots.
