Bulgarian Seaside Becomes American Dream

Standard daily, June 25, 2008

For most Americans, the high prices of the plane tickets to Europe and the strong euro mean that it will be impossible for them to enjoy a European vacation this summer. However, many US travel agencies give tips for affordable destinations in Europe.

An article titled "Five Europe destinations that won't kill your budget" in the USA Today newspaper reads: "Yes, it's true: Europe airfare prices are outrageous this summer and the dollar is being beaten to a pulp by the euro. Fortunately, there are still a few places that offer American travelers good value."

These good value destinations are not many and Bulgaria is one of them. The rest of the cheap destinations are Turkey, Transylvania (Romania) and the German capital, Berlin. The article reads that the services in Bulgaria are not always of the highest quality and that the infrastructure outside the cities is poor, but the food is really nice, nature is fascinating and the seaside is cheaper than that in the most European countries. The publication also reads that Bulgaria - the oldest state in Europe - offers its visitors security, medieval settlements, old monasteries and many different resorts. Although only about the size of Tennessee, you could easily spend several weeks exploring, especially if you are interested in culture. The conditions for tourism in Bulgaria may not be perfect, the article reads, but the prices are good and the country is the perfect European destinations for the Americans of more modest means.
