The kingdom of the Rhododendron in Strandzha

The eighth festival of the Strandzha Rhododendron gathered over 700 guests, the festival bears the name of the unique for the region shrub, which blossoms in May and June and was accepted as a symbol of the mountain.
The festival takes place ever since 2003 in different parts of the mountain.

This year the organizers from the direction of the natural park and the Bulgarian foundation “Biodivercity” chose the site “Tulpan” over the Zabernovo village in the protected site “Paroria”. Following the tradition thousands of people arrived from different parts of the country to touch the magic mountain.

Two days in the kingdom of the Rhodondenron are not enough to get to know the mountain, but are enough to fall in love with it.

Guests have the chance to enjoy the beautiful nature, to see the Thracian dolmens and sanctuaries, to hug the venerable trees and listen to the songs from Strandzha and try the famous manov honey or rakia from Zvezdets and Gramatikovo.

Then enchanted and touched to leave part of their hearts in Strandzha.
