Bulgaria and Romania started a project “Bulgarian – Romanian research centre for steady tourism”, to integrate the academic and business potential of both countries.
The project will operate until March 2009. The initiative is financed by PHARE program for trans border cooperation, “Steady development and preservation of the biodiversity” and will be executed by “The International Collage” cooperating the Romanian association “Regional centre for development of the human recourses and social management”.
The European commission will provide 120 332 Euro. The main goal of the project is the foundation of a modern Centre for steady development of tourism in the International College, Dobrich which will service Dobrich and Constanta regions, creating Trans border nets for transfer of innovations and know how of the small and middle enterprises.
The main goal of the initiative is to develop tourism in the regions which are away from the seaside, stimulating the enterprise in the alternative tourism, applying innovations and improvement of the social status of the population along the Danube River. The project is directed towards the employed in the tourism industry in Bulgaria and Romania, teachers and students, the local and regional authorities from Dobrich and Constanta, academic officials and explorers.
Information and data base for the tourism enterprises in the two regions will be gathered during the realization of the project. “European Journal” for tourism science studies will be issued together with a web site with information for the eco and rural tourism in Dobrich and Constanta regions, together with successful tourism practices.
The project plans to create opportunities for online reservations of all hotels and houses in the eco tourism destinations.
The results of the project will support the owners of small guest houses in remote regions and they will receive information and consultations how to start and manage small business in the sphere of tourism. Professional marketing will be also provided.
The project will help the development of young specialists and scientists in the sphere of tourism, as well as steady development of alternative tourism.
