400 competitors from Europe will attend a round of the European Rafting Championship in Kresna

The Kresna gorge will host a round of the Ruropean Rafting Cup in May; this was announced by the Mayor of Simitly – Mr. Apostol Apostolov. He met the head of the organization committee of the extreme competition – Mr. Boyan Pozarevac. The competition will take place along the Struma River on 31 May and 1st July. The trace is 14 km long, the start is from the first tunnel of the gorge and the final will be at the region of the Kresna inns.

The terrain along the Struma River is the only site in Bulgaria, which can host a competition of that rank. The best site for rafting competitions in Europe is nearby Banja Luka town.
Over 150 rafting lovers tried the trace last weekend.
