Bulgaria Will Host Round of European Rafting Cup

Bulgaria will host a round of the European Rafting Cup from 31 May until 1st July. The competition will be held at Kresna Gorge. In connection to that the governor of Blagoevgrad Vladimir Dimitrov and the major of the municipality of Simitli Apostol Apostolov gave a special press conference, FOCUS Radio – Pirin reporter informed.

Pirin region governor expressed his satisfaction that there will be a competition of such quality on the territory of the municipality for the first time. Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev will be the patron of the rafting round. Simitli major Apostol Apostolov defined the upcoming event as very important for the municipality. He hopes that Bulgaria will host a round of the World Rafting Cup in the future. According to him Kresna Gorge is one of the best in Europe.

Around 300 competitors from whole Europe, including Bulgarian competitors, are expected to participate in the competition, Apostolov added.
