Thracian Setllement to Attract Tourists in Bulgaria

A recreation of a Thracian settlement will be constructed near the coastal town of Tsarevo.
The settlement would be built on the road between Tsarevo and the village of Varvara on more than 14 000 sq m of municipal land, Dnevnik daily said.

Life of the Thracian tribes would be recreated there. According to the project some Thracian rituals would also be revived.

Mainly Tsarevo citizen would take part in the recreation. The project must be carried out in the active tourism season, Dnevnik said.

EU’s PHARE programme for transborder co-operation between Bulgaria and Turkey would grant 34 000 euro for the project.

A second part of the project included ship restoration and trips to Turkey, Dnevnik said. Turkish Pinarhisar municipality would co-operate with Tsarevo for the fulfillment of the project.

Preliminary work on the project had already begun.
