Bulgaria's song Water, performed by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov has qualified for the Eurovision final for the first time ever since the country started taking part in the contest.
Water will be performed under slot 21, a draw decided.
Bulgarians were kept on the edge for the song's name was the 8th drawn in the live show, and it seemed for a minute that the country would be left out for a third time.
Belarus, Macedonia, Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia, Latvia, Serbia, Turkey and Moldova are the other nine countries that will move on to the final. Interestingly enough, none of the Western European countries represented in the semis qualified.
Georgia offered a surprise, for this was the country's first year in the contest.
Water was one of the three songs produced by the Bulgarian National Television especially for the local edition of Eurovision. It is based on an old traditional Bulgarian folk song that is still performed in its original by Bistrishkite Babi, a group of seven elderly ladies.
Our biggest joy is that we make Bulgarians everywhere proud of their country, Yankoulov commented shortly after the draw.
