Hotels to adopt pan-EU star system

A European tourism board will be set up soon to align the benchmarking rules of the hospitality industries of the member states, Anelia Krushkova, chairperson of the Bulgarian State Tourism Agency, told a gathering of industry executives. The local accommodation facilities will likely be checked and assigned a star-rating by foreign experts. At the moment, the agency is working on a project to divide the country into different regions that will be marketed as stand-alone destinations at industry events and exhibitions.
