In Japan 2009 is going to pass under the slogan Year of Bulgaria, announces a press release of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the visit of the Bulgarian foreign minister, Mr. Ivaylo Kalfin, in the "country of the rising sun".
The occasion is the 90th anniversary of the establishing of official diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 50th anniversary of the re-establishing of these relations after World War II. A rich cultural program is being discussed for these reasons.
The Japanese government grants Bulgaria $ 8 million yearly for cultural expenditure.
During the meeting and in the context of the Bulgarian membership in EU, Mr. Kalfin outlined the new options in front of the Japanese investors in our country. He mentioned the two big projects connected with Bulgaria - the already functioning "Tokuda" hospital in Sofia and the project of "Mitsubishi" corporation for building up of wind energy park "Kaliakra", which accounts for 92.2 million BGN. ($ 62.05 million).
Mr. Kalfin forwarded to the Japanese P.M., Mr. Focuda, an invitation to visit Bulgaria.
