World Praises Bulgarian Ecotourism

Local State Agency of Tourism (SAT) informs that Bulgaria is elected for first time to be member of the two most important committees of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for the period 2007-2009.
The choice has been made by the time of the 17th General Assembly of UNWTO that is taking place in Cartagena, Columbia.

The forum is attended by 700 representatives of 150 countries-members and 500 associated and affiliated members.

On Monday, November 26, on the Europe's Commission meeting attended by 35 country officials, Bulgaria was elected unanimously for member of the two most important committees: the Programme Committee and the Budget and Finance Committee for the period 2007-2009.

This is big recognition for the Bulgarian contribution in the tourism development on world level in particular on regional level.

The candidates are by name, Bulgarian candidate is Stanislav Novakov, vice-chairperson of SAT.

Besides that Bulgaria is elected for deputy chairperson of the Europe's Commission of UNWTO for the period 2007-2009.

The convincing presentation of Bulgaria on the world tourism forum is related on first place with the competence membership of the country in the EU.

Europe is the most important region for the organization. The old continent is defining the most important elements of the policy, main directions and projects of UNWTO.

Stanislav Novakov made a presentation for the possibilities and made achievements in the ecotourism sphere and biodiversity protection in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is universally acknowledged as example for the tourism development not only as important economy factor but also as key tool for regional development, for nature protection and opening of work places.

The high recognition for Bulgaria's potential in the ecotourism field could successfully oppose to the plans converting the country into building site and base for inferior and mediocre tourism, commented from money.bg.
