Ski Resorts Brace for New Tourist Season

Yulen, the company operating the skiing facilities of the local Bansko resort under a concession arrangement, said it has invested 3 mln levs to improve the ski runs for the new season which starts there officially on Dec 15.

Their total length is now 77 km It has added a new four-seat ski lift with an hourly capacity of 2,000 skiers and a new tow system with a capacity of 600 skiers pe hour.

Another local ski resort Pamporovo has invested in a new six pack chair lift with an hourly capacity of 2,000 skiers but it will be ready by Jan-Feb '08.
No new ski runs have been added to the existing 25 km but the bed capacity of the resort will increase by 50% or 2,000.
