Weather on Mountains Suitable for Tourism

On the high parts of the mountains there is danger of avalanches but on the whole the weather is calm and fair, Mountain Rescue Service informed FOCUS News Agency. It is misty only in the region of Cherni Vrah peak. The snow cover on Vitosha mountain is 20 to 80 centimeters. The cabin lift Simeonovo is functioning as well as the open seats lift Dragalevtsi. The temperatures are between 0ºC to –5ºC on Cherni Vrah. The other ski facilities on Vitosha are not working.

In Borovets resort the snow cover is from 50 to 100 cm and temperatures from 0ºC to –7ºC. The cabin lift Yastrebets 1 to Way Station (Mezhdinna Stantsia) is operating.
On Stara Planina the weather is fair, temperatures vary from 0ºC to –4ºC, snow cover from 15 to 100 cm. On Pirin at Bezbog chalet above Dobrinishte the ski track is perfectly maintained, the lift is working and the snow cover is up to 140 cm.

In Bansko the temperatures are from -2ºC to 3ºC, the weather is calm and fair, the snow cover is up to 100 cm.
Because of danger of avalanche on the high parts of the mountains Mountain Rescue Service recommend tourists to walk only on the marked routes, and skiers and snowboardists to use only the marked tracks.
Generally, the weather on the mountains is suitable for tourism.
