The Bulgarians to choose between Tsarevets Fortress and the Madara Horseman.

Tsarevets in Veliko Tarnovo - the fortress of the 2nd Bulgarian Kingdom, the Madara Horseman - listed in UNESCO world heritage site and the Cyrillic Alphabet are the top three choices for a symbol of Bulgaria.
The campaign has been organized by the Bulgarian Association for Business and Tourist Information.

Rila Monastery is another national heritage site, that runs in the competition in the "Cultural and Historical Heritage" category of the contest.
The Seven Rila Lakes, located in Rila Mountains are the top choice in "Natural Landmarks" category, followed by the Balkan range and the mountain flower edelweiss.

The Bulgarian Yogurt is the favourite in "Food and Drink" category. Traditional banitsa ( type of pastry) and Shopska salad are far behind the tasty Bulgarian yogurt.
