Bulgaria Promotes Hunting Tours in Dortmund

International Hunt Expo " Hunt and Dog" in Dortmund attracts crouds of visitors. Bulgaria also has a pavilion at the prestigious expo. There are representatives of many Bulgarian companies trading with hunting gear and many tour operators that organize hunting tourism in the country. Bulgarian stand attracts the attention with impressive stag horns and huge boar and mouflon's tusks that are on display here. About 25 - 30 foreign hunters booked their place for a hunting game in Bulgaria just in the first two days of the opening of the expo. Most of them prefer to hunt for deer in our country. A deer hunt cost around 300 euro. There are also many hunters, showing interest for boar and stag hunting. Bulgaria is ranked first for staghorns. That's why, hunters from Germany and Austria prefer to go hunting in Bulgaria. The price of staghorns vary from 200 to 6000 euro. Statistic shows that in 2007, the number of people to hunt in Bulgaria was 3.465, and that is with 9 percent more than in 2006. The state revenues, collected from hunting activities amount to 5.6 million levs ( 1euro=1.95 levs).
"This year we expect to attract more hunters, because of the newly introduced cheaper hunting fees," commented the deputy chairman of Bulgaria's State Agency of Forestry, Jordan Radoslavov.
