Belvedere to ship Bulgarian wines to U.S.

The Bulgarian unit of French wine and spirits group Belvedere said it will start this April to export local wine to the U.S.
Belvedere Bulgaria subsidiary Vinimpex and Imperial Brands, Belvedere's stateside branch, will be in charge of the export operations.
The Bulgarian wines will initially retail in 12 U.S. states.
Overseas, the company will market the output of its Katarjina Estate and Domain Menada wineries, positioning the brands in the mid-price segment.
Poland is the biggest market for the Belvedere Bulgaria wine brands, followed by Britain, Germany, Scandinavia and Russia.
The company will start exports to the Ukraine in mid-2008.
France's Belvedere does business in Bulgaria since 2002 and has so far invested over 32 mln euro in the Bulgarian wine sector. It owns for wineries and two commercial corporations here.
