Two new routes from Manchester Airport to Sofia and Geneva are to be launched later this year by easyJet.
The airline has said it will start a service to Sofia on December 11 and a day later flights to Geneva will commence, offering ski fans a route to Bulgarian resorts such as Bansko and Pamporovo in the Pirin Mountain range and many resorts in the Alps.
Flights to Geneva will operate nine times a week, and one-way tickets will start from £29.99, while the Sofia route will be available three times a week with single tickets priced at £39.99.
Carly Brear, easyJet’s UK commercial manager, said: "These two new routes from Manchester are further proof that there is demand for direct low-fare services from the North West to Europe.
"Geneva has proved an extremely popular destination from all across the UK and it's great that we can now replicate that success from Manchester. The Bulgarian capital, Sofia, is also expected to be popular as more people discover what the city and its surrounding areas have to offer."
The addition of these two new routes will bring the number of destinations served by easyJet from Manchester to seven, and follows the recent news that the airline will also launch a new service from the airport to Alicante this winter starting on September 29.
