The most beautiful unknown sites in Bulgaria were declared

Sitovo village, the village of Goleshovo near Sandanski, and “St. Petka” chapel near Tran are the winners in the competition “My native region is the best”. The contest was organized by the TV show “Patevoditel BG” (Guide BG) on BNT SAT, the State Agency for Tourism and the Camber of the constructors in Bulgaria.
Sitovo and Goleshovo villages and Tran region were represented by short video movies. Sitovo village is situated in the heart of the Rodope Mountains, 32 km away from Plovdiv. The site is popular with the famous inscription above the Sitovo Rocks. The inscription is more than 7000 years old and it is not deciphered yet.
The infrastructure and the accommodation places in these tree regions will be developed and the churches and temples will be restored. The organizers of the competition said that they will help with the constructing and popularizing of the chosen regions, to make them a successful tourist destinations.
