Bulgaria will invest some BGN 2.1 million into the launch of a vast campaign to promote local tourism among its citizens for the second time in the last two years, deputy Economy Minister, Ivo Marinov, said.
Funds for the initiative will be provided under the EUR 5 million Regional Development programme of the European Union. The remaining BGN 3 million will be channeled into the roll-out of another campaign, likely to be held next year, Marinov added.
The contract has been awarded to consortium Pro Event Business Group Partners 3, which includes OM Sofia, part of advertising agency Ogilvy, 24/7 Entertainment, Metropolis Group and Reforma Advertising.
The campaign, which will be carried out through outdoor advertising, electronic and printed media, aims to reach an audience of two million TV viewers, two million radio listeners, 200,000 readers and two million Internet users.
