Japan will lobby for the introduction of Bulgarian products on the markets of the Far East, Australia and Oceania, the Bulgarian and Japanese business agreed upon during the visit of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov in Japan last month.
Japan is actually one of the largest markets open for Bulgarian goods. As early as the 1961 Bulgarian companies signed mutual cooperation agreement with the Japanese commercial Arbitration Association and the agreement has been renewed recently by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At present the producers of typically Bulgarian goods are trying to gain ground at the Japanese market. Apart from the already popular yogurt and rose oil, the foods sector avails of still broad opportunities. Organic foods are especially demanded in Japan. Representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce think that tourism is also a variant for cooperation with Japan. The adaptation of Bulgarian tourism packages has been considered to comply with the Japanese market’s higher demands. Talks with different Bulgarian associations have been planned specially to this purpose.
