Six Bulgarian towns nominated for European Capital of Culture

Bulgarian towns nominated for the European Capital of Culture in 2019 are Sofia, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo and Rousse. The official promote of Rousse will be discussed at the session of the town counselors.
Bulgarian and Italian invitation for the prestigious title will be published on 31 December 2012. The result of their choices will be announced on 31 December 2014.
For European Capital of Culture have been declared 37 towns. The initiative stimulates long-term urban development in the field of culture, tourism, infrastructure, social and economic development.
