Gold for Slivenska Perla at Vinaria Expo

Slivenska Perla rakia received two gold medals at Vinaria 2007 in Plovdiv. The producer, Vini Sliven, also won bronze for the unique wine Sliven Shevka 2006. Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil, Plovdiv Fair CEO Georgi Gergov and the National Wine and Vine Chamber CEO Nikola Nikolov handed out the awards at the traditional ball Wine and Love, Love and Wine that took place in the Pavilion 3 of the Fair.
Wine-makers of Villa Hissar and Villa Lyubimets grabbed five awards. Chardonnay 2006 deserved gold for White and Rose Wines 2006.
For the first time in the last three years the jury from the National Wine and Rakia Sampling Committee awarded the grand prix - Golden Rhyton. The high prize was given to Sakar-Lyubimets winery for their Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot 2006. The jury believes this wine is the only one that deserves over 85 points that are necessary for winning the highest award at the wine exhibition.
