Bulgaria and Italy Attack US Market with Joint Tourist Product

Common tourist product, based on spa and wellness services in Bulgaria and Italy was suggested to the US market on the press conference for perspectives of spa and wellness tourism in Bulgaria.

The forum took place in Plovdiv city.

The project's motto is ‘Come for two weeks in Europe - one in Italy and one in Bulgaria' could even receive the support of the European Union.

The chairperson of National Association for Spa and Wellness Stanimir Stankov confessed that similar negotiations were leaded with German companies too.

If such projects will be realized in the future, it will accelerate the process of imposing the country as world destination for spa and wellness, stated Anelia Krushkova, chief of State Agency of Tourism (SAT).

In the moment main consumers of spa services in the country are Bulgarians, informed Krushkova. Such services should be presented only in 4 and 5 stars hotels. This would avoid future problems like wild development of the sector like in the mountain and sea tourism.

Spa and wellness sector, along with golf would bring to Bulgaria the dreamed solvent tourists.
