Airshow at Plovdiv Airport

Plovdiv Airport Ltd., in association with “Mlad Orel” (Young Eagle) Club organizes aviation festival for the Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics – April, 12.

The event is supported by the Minister of Transport – Petar Mutafchiev, Nikolai Tsonev – Minister of defense and the mayor of Plovdiv – Slavcho Atanasov.
The event will taka place on 12 April 2009 at 11.AM. The entrance for all visitors is free.

The program plans air and land demonstration of civil and military aircrafts, delta planers and aviation models.
The culmination of the program will be demonstration of MiG-21 and MiG-29 from Graf Ignatievo aviation-base. They will be followed by demonstration of military helicopters, parachute jumps, air acrobatics with light airplanes.
An exposition with exponents form the Aviation museum will be arranged in the arrivals’ hall in Plovdiv Airport. The youngest visitors will be able to participate in the “Aviation drawings” contest.
Guests of the event will be able to observe the development of the majour infrastructure projects on the modernization of Plovdiv airport and the construction of the new passenger terminal and the extension of the platform of the airport.
