Rila Monastery Opens Renovated Museum

Rila Monastery will open its renovated ecclesiastical and historical museum on June 23, 2007 at 5.30 pm, the organizers announced for FOCUS News Agency.

The museum was closed for eight months, in which the exposition was enriched and underwent some improvements.
Many of the expositions have been restored and conserved. Museum visitors will see unique church garments and belongings for the first time ever.

The electric, AC and security installations have been replaced as well as the illumination, carpets and windows.
The repair works have been wholly funded by the monastery.
Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim, the culture minister and the district governor of Kyustendil District as well as museum directors and local mayors have been invited to attend the re-opening of the museum.
