Weekend Tourism Becomes Popular along the Danube River, Bulgaria

The weekend tourism in Bulgaria, along the Danube River is becoming very popular these days, especially amongst Romanian tourists. The weekend package tours in Rousse Municipality are gaining significant popularity. Roussenski Lom, Cherven Ancient Fortress, Ivanovo Rock Monasteries and the Danube River itself are attracting tourist spots for the North Countries’ visitors.
Recently the city of Rousse hosted a tourism fair, at which the weekend packages were launched. Accent of the fair were the trans-border opportunities for tourism between Bulgaria and Romania. The weekend tourism in Rousse is also known among locals as shopping tourism, as long as main visiting attractions for the coming tourists are the hypermarkets in the city. Rousse Municipality also aims to provoke interest in the cultural and historical sightseeing spots in vicinity to Rousse.
