The region has big opportunities for developing its culture tourism, the secretary of the Representatives of the Tourist Business Association Maria Taushanova said.

Sandanski focuses on its historic heritage, especially on the fact that this region is the birth place of Spartacus. There will be shown the visiting exhibition of the National Museum of History in reference to the gladiator's military equipment.

The culture tourism in the region will be presented in the catalog as a way of exploring the traditional local crafts and painting icons.

There is an idea the culture tourism in Sandanski to meet tourists with the authentic folklore of the region through their participation in local traditions and customs.
