Ferry Between Bulgaria and Romania Opened

Bulgarian minister of transport Peter Mutafchiev opened today in Silistra the new ferry terminal and ferry line between the Bulgarian town of Silistra and the Romanian Calarash, informed BNR.

The ferry secures a transport corridor for the traffic of trucks from Turkey to Ukraine and back. The terminal situated at an area of 65 189 sq. m. and is the first in Bulgaria concession in green for public infrastructure.

Concessioner for the period of 35 years is “Danube industrial park” JSC. The Bulgarian state has built up a border control point and road to the terminal.

“Danube industrial park” JSC, which is part of “Alfa finance holding” JSC is also building the industrial zone in Silistra with an area of 40 hectares. In the next months it will be equipped as a multi functional cargo harbor.

The total investment of "Alfa finance holding" JSC is over 13 M EUR. Nearly the same amount will be invested in the next two years.
