Sofia's city hall has completed the works on the ramp for Saturday's Big Air snowboard World Cup event in the downtown of the Bulgarian capital.
The ramp, which weighs more than 600 tonnes, is 100 metres tall, 32 metres long and 20 metres wide, towering over the Battenberg Square.
Although it has further slowed down traffic during rush hours on one of Sofia's main boulevards, the event's organisers have refused to move it to another location.
They have also refused to postpone it until after the winter holidays, due to the fact that the TV time for it has been booked already, including with the Eurosport channel.
"We can't move the event, so it is not around Christmas, as politicians have asked us. The international calendar of events has been announced long ago and we have to stick to it," the chairman of Bulgaria's ski federation Tseko Minev said.
