Potato Exhibition on Display in Bulgaria's Agriculture Ministry

Exhibition of potato figures and pictures was opened Monday in the building of Bulgaria's Agriculture Ministry in Sofia.

The odd show, which is held under the patronage of the Agriculture Minister Valeri Tsvetanov, will last for two days.

In the framework of the event there will be organized three contests - a national competition for pictures and photos of potatoes, a contest for making figures and whole compositions as well as essays and articles writing competition.

The event is held on the occasion of the United Nations International Year of the Potato, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the so popular vegetable - and of agriculture in general - in addressing issues of global concern, including hunger.
