Sofia could be a host of the “New 7 wonders” awarding ceremony in 2011. Bulgarian capital was nominated as a host of the spectacular ceremony in the official web site of the contest, www.new7wonders.com.
Meanwhile Belogradchik Rocks got second position in the competition for the new seven wonders, after the Devil’s town in Belgrade. The nominations are in the “Caves, rock formations and valleys” category.
The “New 7 wonders” contest is powered by Swiss nongovernmental organization. The voting will continue till the 7th of July 2009, when the Number of the 260 natural phenomena will be reduced to 77. 21 will be selected and team of experts will choose the new 7 wonders.
