The Golden Chariot of the Thracians

The Deputy Minister of Culture Mr. Todor Chobanov will open an exhibition “The golden chariot of the Tracians” in Mall of Sofia today. It will present a unique decoration of a Thracian chariot dating back from II century, which is one of a kind for the Roman Empire.

The exhibition will mark the start of the project “Restoration and conservation of the Thracian chariot from Karanovo village, Nova Zagora”, organized by OBB, Nova Zagora municipality and association “Culture project”, lead by Mr. Veselin Ignatov- archaeologist and director of the History museum n Nova agora.

The project foresees the complete restoration of the antique cart and a traveling exhibition during the period 2009 – 2010.

This was announced by the press centre of the ministry of culture.
