A drag lift and a ski slope near Sopot resort in the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria

A drag lift and a one kilometer long ski slope will connect “Nezabravka” and “ Dobrila” huts in Stara Planina near Sopot. This was announced by the mayor of the municipality Mr. Veselin Lichev. The construction of the equipment was officially approved by the Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria. The mayor announced that the drag lift will be build and managed by the local tourism association “Ivan Vazov”. Thus this part of the National Park Central Balkan will be also attractive during the winter seasons. The local authorities plan to attract sportsmen and nature lovers during the winter months. Mr. Lichev added that the capacity of the hotels in the municipal has reached 1200 beds.
