Fire-Dancing at Bulgari Village in Strandja Mountain

The Strandja village of Bulgari celebrates the day of St St. Constantine & Elena, at which traditiona fire dancers’ games take place.
Traditionally, each year the fire dancing takes place on June 3rd. The old heathen custom attracts many people from all over. The fire-dancer’s fireplace gathers tourists, photo reporters, TV medias and ancient researchers from all parts of the world.
According to the scientists the fire dancing is found on different beliefs and rituals, in which the cult of St Constantine has a special role.
In the ritual this year, the fire will be lit at the central square of the village. The magic dances start at dawn. The fire dancers’ games are accompanied by many songs and celebrations during the whole day.
