Danube Bridge 2 is part of the important transport corridor #4, which connects the port of Thessalonike with Sofia, Vidin, Romania, EU’s central and northern parts, Bulgarian PM Sergey Stanishev said in the town of Vidin, cited by a reporter of Radio Focus-Vidin.
The delegation was officially welcomed outside the building of the district administration. Now it is heading to the construction site of the bridge.
Bishop Dometian of Vidin will bless with holy water the site. Speeches will be delivered by Bulgaria’s Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev, Romania’s State Secretary Septimiu Buzasu, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria Michael Humphreys and a Chair of the Spanish company FCC responsible for implementing the project.
