Vidin boasts with a record number of tourists visiting local historical sightseeing and attractions.
The regional authorities support initiatives for the improvement of the conditions in the majour tourism attractions in town. The local institutions and public organizations organize public events and attractive cultural activities in the sites.

The biggest project realized in the town is “Baba Vida – history and fairytale”. Thus the medieval fortress was transformed into an attractive tourism site of international significance. The fortress is now completely lighted. Four craftsmen workshops opened doors on the territory of the complex, together with exhibition halls, Summer Theater, wine cellar and a conference hall. The exterior outlook of the castle was restored and the renovated interior of the castle created better opportunities for the preservation of the historical sightseeing and thus boosted the interest of tourists.
