First Day of Explorations in Vratsa Brings important Find

SofiaEcho, 22 June 2007

During their first day of exploration in the Vratsa region, archaeologists found an important artifact.

The team of Nartsis Torbov found a silver Roman coin, dating back to the first century BC.

Finding such item during the first day of work confirmed the archaeologists’ theory that Vratsa existed before Slavic tribes settled there.

The terrain has been well-known but never fully explored, Focus news agency reported.

Archaeologists are currently uncovering a construction, which they believe is a tower. Since the construction is massive, archaeologists will need 10 more days to identify its type.
