The House of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo will celebrate its 39-th birthday on April 1-st – the International joke day. Interesting activities for people of all ages will be presented during the day. The program includes:
9.00 - 18.00 - Screening of cartoons films (The Three Fools popular series by Donyo Donev and Nu, pogodi! ("You Just Wait!") by Vyacheslav Kotyochkin) (3rd Floor Lobby)
9.00 - 10.30 - Screening of Bulgarian feature film Hitar Petar (Director: Stefan Sarchadzhiev; scriptwriter: Petar Naznakomov; starring: Rachko Yabandzhiev, Leo Konforti, Konstantin Kisimov, Petko Karlukovski, etc.) (Room 8)
10.30 - 12.00 - Funny Stories Workshop - silver-tongued young Gabrovians are telling comic tales and stories (Speicial guest: folklorist Elena Ognyanova) (Giraffe Hall)
12.00 - Humour in Our Dreams - opening of an exhibition of drawings by children from Gabrovo and Nichelino, Italy. The drawings were submitted to a children's drawing competition of the same name. (Nichelino, Italy)
13.00 - Ceremonial validation of a postal stamp dedicated to The Day of Humour and Joking - 35 years since the discovery of the minor planet GABROVO (Room 6)
13.30 - EUROPEAN HUMOUR ART ENCOUNTERS: Searching for the Human - opening of a group exhibition of drawings and graphics from the Humour of the Peoples art collection of the Museum HOUSE OF HUMOUR AND SATIRE (Room 6)
15.00 - 17.00 - Screening of Bulgarian feature film Uncle Ganyo on a Tour of Europe (Director: Ivan Nichev; scriptwriter: Marko Stoychev; starring: Georgi Kaloyanchev, Stoyan Aleksiev, Plamen Sirakov, Leda Taseva, Filip Trifonov, Ginka Stancheva, Joko Rosich, etc.) ( Room 8)
17.30 - Presentation of Bozhko Bozhkov's book From Gomulka to Kwasniewski and from Zhivkov to Parvanov: an Interpreter Recalls (a VIP interpreter is relating comic VIP stories); the event is held in partnership with the Polish Institute in Sofia; the presentation of the book will be made by 1st degree Senior Research Associate, Dr. Agop Garabedyan from the Institute for Balkan Studies to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
