Perperikon and Tatul - more ancient than the Egyptian Pyramids

The Bulgarian scientists will try to prove the thesis, that the rock sacred places of Perperikon and Tatul in the Eastern Rodopi Mounatian are even more ancient and mystic than the Egyptian Pyramids.
This is going to happen during the largest archeological expedition in Bulgaria, near the town of Kardjali, the director of the excavations, Nikolay Ovcharov said.
Ovcharov reminded that the thesis was expressed these days by two Bulgarian female historians. According to them the first rock cuts in this part of the Rodopean Mountains date back 5000 years before Christ.
Archeologists will search proofs and evidences for this statement in the Thracian sacred place of Tatul, near Momchilovgrad Village, where a cultural layer from the 20th century before Christ is already proved.
The archeological excavations in Kardjali will start on 28 May and will continue for 4 or 5 months. 200 000 BGN are provided for this expedition project.
