Three unique monuments from different stages of the history of Perperikon were found during archaeological research in the Eastern part of the Rodope Mountain.
Prof. Nokolai Ovcharov showed the findings for the first time. The first finding is a bronze sword from 13-12 Century BC.
Similar swards were used during the Thracian War, pointed prof. Ovcharov. Another finding is a pottery idol of a man from 6000 years. The numerous holes in the statue evidenced that it was used for magical rituals, to heal sick people.
The third subject is a silver medal with two pairs from 4-5th century AC.
It is an image of Jesus Christ. The ornament probably belonged to a Byzantium noble man.
