Unique Blue Rose blooms in the Botanic garden in Balchik

A blue rose bloomed for the first time this month in the Botanic garden in Balchik, the news was announced by the department which is under the jurisdiction of the Sofia University “St. Climent Ohridski”
The plant is unique with its ability to change its colour from saturated blue to violet, depending on the acidity of the soil, reported Focus agency.

Specialists explained that the blue rose is from the tea- hybrid type and around 40 specimen of the kind grow in the Botanic garden in Balchik.
The plants that grow in the Botanic garden Balchik are over 3000. It was founded in 1955.
The collection of large cactuses lines it up on the second place in Europe, after the king’s garden in Monaco.
