Second downhll training World Cup Bansko

For the second day straight, Austrian Andrea Fischbacher was the fastest in downhill training in Bansko, Bulgaria, where women's World Cup downhill and super G races are scheduled Friday through Sunday.
Fischbacher was first down the icy, turny course that got the better of a few skiers Thursday, including Lindsey Vonn, who took a spill but is OK save a sore butt, U.S. coach Jim Tracy said.

DH and SG World Cup Ladies in Bansko – First Training Results

The first official training for the DH and SG World Cup Ladies in Bansko, Bulgaria started at 11 AM, on Fefruary 25th. The decision was taken by the Chief Race Director World Cup Ladies, Mr. Atle Skaardal (FIS). 47 alpine skiers took the starting positions on Banderitsa ski slope yesterday.

Bulgarian Wine Voted Best in Eastern Europe by Chicago Institute

The Bulgarian wine VINI, a 2006 Thracian Valley Merlot, has earned the distinction of "Best Eastern European Red Wine" at the World Value Wine Challenge held by the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, an official PRWeb press release reported Tuesday.

VINI is produced by Sonoma-based Bulgarian Master Vintners, America's leading importer of Bulgarian wines.

150 000 cubic meters fresh snow was pulled down from Tomba slope

The next 5 days, the sport world will observe Bulgaria, as Bansko’s Banderitza ski run will host the FIS World Cup Ladies’ races in less than a week (February 27 – March 1, 2009). The budget for the competition is 3,5 million BGN and 200 persons work hard to supply excellent snow cover on the ski trails for the biggest sport event in Bulgaria for 2009.

The construction of the new terminal at Plovdiv airport starts today

The construction of the new terminal at Plovdiv airport starts today. The Prime minister of Bulgaria, Mr. Sergey Stanishev will announce the start of the construction works.

The new Plovdiv airport terminal is going to be build 250 m away from the current one, on an area of 6,759 square meters.
