Bulgaria Marks International Danube Day

The International Danube Day is marked in Bulgaria Monday with series of events in the Danube cities of Ruse and Silistra and the town of Lom.

The celebrations in Ruse are held under the motto: "I love Danube" and will be opened by the Ruse Mayor, Bozhidar Yotov at 5 pm. The agenda includes a boat and yacht parade, bike and fishing contests, street ball, brass band and cheerleaders' performances.

In Lom there is a planned action to clean sites along the Danube coast to be done by children...

Two brand new 5 star hotels will be constructed in Velingrad

Velingrad is expected to be officially announced as the SPA capital of the Balkan Peninsula, which was recognized on 17th December last year in Sarajevo.

Velingrad was then officially announced as the spa capital of the Balkans by the Balkan Alliance of the hotel Associations.

Velingrad offers unique nature and well developed tourism infrastructure, offering excellent services all year round.

Saudi Prince to Fund Bulgarian Archeological Thracian City Project

The nephew of the Saudi King Abdullah is going to take part in the project for the exposure of the Thracian city, Sevtopolis.

Sevtopolis is under the waters of the dam "Koprinka" in southern Bulgaria, near the city of Kazanlak.

Prince Allulid bin Tallal Al Saud is known for his weakness for historical and cultural remains all over the world and has expressed his desire to fund the Bulgarian archeological project.

The Prince is scheduled to visit Bulgaria in the beginning of July and...

Bulgaria President Turns First Sod of Tourist Center at Perperikon

Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, turned Monday the first sod of the new tourist center at the ancient Thracian city of Perperikon.

The EUR 2,45 M tourist center is funded under the Trans-border Cooperation module of EU's PHARE Program.

Parvanov told the several hundred people who attended the ceremony that Perperikon was one of the symbols of Bulgaria's ancient history, and pointed out that the Bulgarian government had invested over BGN 10 M in the archaeological complex in the...

Bourgas welcomes tourists with attractive night outlook

This summer Bourgas will welcome tourists with an attractive night outlook. Attractive piles with banners are placed on popular sites in the city.

An attractive lighting system is installed, which illuminates the city during the night. The project was completed with funds form resort fees, gathered during the past tourism season.
