Balkan Festival of Love and Wine to be held in Bulgaria's Vidin

The city of Vidin, situated on the Danube riverbank, will host Balkan Festival of Love and Wine on February 14 2007.

The festival will combine the celebrations of two holidays, local St Trifon Zarezan and international St. Valentine's day, Bulgarian news agency BTA said.

St Trifon Zarezan's day is dedicated to vine growing and wine making, as St Trifon is considered guardian of the vineyards.

Participants from Serbia, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria will take part in the festival.

Marc Girardelli on Bulgaria

EUR 25 M Eco Resort to be Built in Bulgaria

The building of a luxurious eco resort is to start in the seaside village of Topola, Northeastern Bulgaria.

The main investor of the project, called "Topola Skies", is Varna Company Aquatech. The investment is set at EUR 25 M.

The resort, whose total area is 22,500 square meters, is expected to be built by 2008.

It will be situated nearby the biggest golf course in the region, Thracian Cliffs that is under construction at the moment.

Thracian Treasures Exhibited In Bulgaria's Capital

National Museum of History will exhibit some of Bulgaria’s most valuable gold Thracian treasures, the Panagyursko, Rogozensko and Borovsko treasures.

The exhibition will open at 11am on February 10. Visitors can see the treasures until February 24, Focus news agency said.

Panagyursko, Rogozensko and Borovsko treasures are considered part of the world’s most valuable cultural and historical heritage. All three treasures were found by chance and date back to fifth and sixth centuries...
