The secrets of Strandja Mountain (Strandzha)

Strandja Mountain, lying in the southeastern-most corner of Bulgaria is as yet little known both to Bulgarian and foreign tourists.
The mountain begins to rise literally at the seashore to rise ever so slowly to the west. The international motorway from Burgass runs into the mountain folds at Tsarevo, to proceed to Malko Tarnovo and then head on for Istanbul in Turkey.

Pamporovo Plans New Six Seater Chairlift

Bulgaria’s Pamporovo ski area has announced plans to build a new POMA six-seater high-speed detachable chairlift between the ski area and the village of Stoikite, turning this existing village in to a ski resort base.

Although construction is yet to commence, the route for the lift has been cleared with trees felled to make way for towers and cables.

Shabla Teams up with Private co for Golf Resort Project

Shabla resort, on the Black Sea, has registered a golf development joint venture with Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Co, an outfit affiliated with Varna-based business conglomerate TIM.

The municipality has contributed a 110 ha land plot to the assets of the Golf Shabla AD receiving in exchange a 35% stake in the joint venture.

Meteorologists Forecast Cold Winter with Loads of Snow in Bulgaria

Loads of snow will fall in the mountains at the beginning of December.

Chilly winter with heavy snowfall, similar to the one in 1982 is expected in Bulgaria. Snow will fall even in November, because of the Atlantic whirlwinds, which will move to the east over the Balkan Peninsula. This was announces by the meteorologist Peter Yankov.
By the beginning of December the mountains will offer 60-70 cm snow cover. December will be colder than usual.

It's World Tourism Day

Since 1980, September 27 is celebrated by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as World Tourism Day.
It was established at the 3rd session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Torremolinos, Spain, in September 1979.

The purpose of this day is to display awareness that tourism is vital to the international community and to show how it affects the social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.
