Young talents from 15 European countries in Sandanski

Energy, rhythm and light – these were the forces setting in motion life, even though for 5 days only, for the hundreds of participants in the Balkan Youth Festival staged for the 12th time in Bulgaria. This year the event was held in the town of Sandanski, Southwestern Bulgaria.

Sofia's Top Centre Ariana Lake Back in Function

Sofia Mayor Boiko Borisov opened officially the reconstructed lake ‘Ariana' situated in the centre of the capital, right next to Orlov most (Eagle's bridge).

Borisov turned the tap and the water filling of the lake started. Bulgaria's President Georgy Purvanov also attended the opening.

‘Ariana' will be filled in 14 days with 65,000 cubic meters of water.

From March to December there will be boats and water wheels, while in winter time the lake will be used as skating-ring.

Today is Sofia Day

On September 17 the Christian world honors the Holy martyrs Viara, Nadejda and Liubov (Faith, Hope and Love) and their mother - St. Sofia.
Legend says that in the first decades of II century, in Rome had lived a woman, named Sofia, that freely professed her faith in Cheeses Christ.

She brought up her three daughters - Viara, Nadejda and Liubov (Faith, Hope and Love) in trust in Christ too.

Ferryboat Bulgaria – Romania to Start in Octobor 2007

The ferryboat between Bulgarian Silistra and Romanian Calarasi is planned to start working from the beginning of October 2007.

This has been the result of a meeting on Thursday October 13 between Regional development and Public Works Minister Assen Gagaouzov and his Romanian colleague László Borbély, reported Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).

Not yet decided were the taxes which would be levied for the use of the transport.

Prices are expected to be equivalent to those on other Bulgarian...

Bulgaria to Host CEI Tourism Administration Heads Meeting

Within the framework of Bulgaria's presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI), the Bulgarian State Agency for Tourism (SAT) will host a work meeting of heads of tourism administrations of CEI member countries.

The meeting will take place September 14 in Evksinograd, Focus news agency reported.
