The building of the third golf complex of “BalkanStroy” AD in the region of Bansko will start in the beginning of 2008 and will last for a period of three years, said Nikolay Kaloyanov, an Executive Director of the building company at the receiving the Certificate of a First Grade Investor for the Project. There is an ongoing procedure at the moment for approving the General Structure Plan and we expect to complete the process of documentation preparation, added Kaloyanov.

Tourism could bring Bulgaria’s budget eight to 10 billion euro per year, Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association chairman Blagoy Ragin said.

The country earned the record breaking amount of nearly a billion euro from tourism in 2006, he said as quoted by Focus news agency.

Bulgaria had to resolve two major problems in the tourism sector, he said. These are bad infrastructure and lack of qualified staff, needed to increase income from tourism.

The 24th International Tourism Exhibition “HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO” takes place from 22 to 24. 02. 07 in the National Palace of Culture. The event was officially opened by the chairwoman of the State Tourism Agency, Anelia Kroushkova. She said that such exhibitions were essential for the development of Bulgarian tourism. The Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena in ski resort Bansko said it has become the first Bulgarian entrant in the directory of The Leading Hotels of the World, a New York-based luxury hospitality organisation, after successfully passing an incognito on-site inspection. The 5-star Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena has 159 rooms and suites.

Bulgaria's Tourists Union will award one lucky tourist with an airplane flight over the country in August.

The lucky fellow will be chosen among all who participated in the initiative "Get to Know Bulgaria" and among those who managed to gather 100 stamps in their booklets "Bulgaria's 100 National Tourist Sites".

The other devoted tourists will have the chance to win cell phones and MP3 players. The awards will be presented in August 2007 on the Cherni Vruh Peak in the Vitosha Mountain...
