Bansko Jazz Fever

This year’s Bansko Jazz Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary, bringing together jazz fans from all over Bulgaria on August 8 to 13.

Artists from 16 countries and three continents will participate in the grand celebrations.

The first day of the festival will see the performance of one of the most popular English jazz blues, Papa George. To open the festival, organisers have invited Bulgarian National Radio’s big band with soloist the prima of Dutch jazz, Denis Djana.

Wind Park for 120 M EUR to be Build in Bulgaria's Dobrich

Bulgarian company ‘Balkan Energy' plans to invest more than 120 million EUR in a 200 MW wind park near the town of Dobrich (North-eastern Bulgaria), Dnevnik informed.
The company already applied for 35-year permit for electricity production. The respond is expected next week.

‘Dobrin' Wind Park is foreseen to be 7,000 sq m and to lie on the territories of Krushari and General Toshevo municipalities (Dobrich region).

Yachting championship in Bulgaria

The World Youth Championship in class 470 was opened on the premises of Port Bourgas yacht club on July 22.
Competitors earned points for the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing.
A total of 164 competitors, divided into 82 teams from 21 countries, took part in the championship.
They were accommodated in the new building of the club, which was opened especially for the occasion.

New strategy sees Bulgaria tourism revenues at 5 bln euro in 2013

Bulgaria's tourism industry revenues should double to 5 bln euro over the next six years, says a development strategy for the period through 2013 drafted by Bulgarian Tourist Chamber chairman Tzvetan Tonchev.

Gross tourism revenue is estimated at 2.2 bln euro for 2007. The average tourist will spend 43 euro per day this year, an amount that should reach 70 euro by 2013, according to the strategy submitted for approval by the State Tourism Agency.

Second Ibar Golf Complex in Dolna Banya for over 100 Million BGN

The investors of Golf Club Ibar near Dolna Banya received a first class investor certificate for their second golf complex, which is to be constructed in very close vicinity to the first one.

The investment project “Golf & Spa Complex Ibar 2” runs up to 106.5 million BGN and is part of a large conception for Dolna Banya economical development.

The golf complex will include golf club, trade centres, sport complex, hotel and spa complex, one-family villas.
